The Young Africans for Peace and Development Association (YAPADA) operates in East Africa, focusing on communities most in need of peacebuilding, development, and humanitarian support. With a growing presence in the region, YAPADA addresses challenges related to conflict, poverty, and environmental vulnerability.

Current Areas of Operation:

1. Somalia.

As YAPADA’s founding country, Somalia is at the heart of our efforts. We work in various regions to:

  • Promote peace and reconciliation, particularly in conflict-affected areas like Qoryooley town in the Lower Shabelle region.

  • Support youth and women through empowerment and capacity-building initiatives.

  • Enhance food security and livelihoods by training farmers and providing essential resources.

  • Deliver emergency assistance during natural disasters, such as droughts and floods.

2. Kenya (In Progress).

We are in the process of expanding our programs to Kenya, where we plan to:

  • Foster inter-community harmony and prevent conflict.

  • Support rural and urban communities with climate adaptation projects.

  • Address economic challenges through skills training and microfinance opportunities.

3. Ethiopia (In Progress).

Our planned expansion into Ethiopia will focus on:

  • Strengthening food security and climate resilience in vulnerable regions.

  • Promoting peace and social cohesion among diverse communities.

  • Implementing education and health initiatives to uplift marginalized populations.
